The member of the Board of Directors of the European Central Bank (ECB) François Vilua de Gallo said he has no fixed position on future movements of interest rate and that decisions will depend on the data.
“For future interest rates, we will see depending on how inflation is evolving,” Francois Vilua de Galo said on Franceinfo radio today Thursday (12.6.2025). “I have never been a stable position in advance – I believe in pragmatism and flexibility in monetary policy, we will see.”
The ECB last week made the eighth reduction in borrowing costs in this cycle and is expected to remain waiting for its upcoming meeting in July.
Some policy -makers have even implied that the reductions may be over, according to sources.
