In a state of increased alert lies the Russia After the catastrophic earthquake 8.8 Richter in Kamchatka. The challenging tsunami hit Severo-Kurilsk with waves of more than 3 meters-the most powerful wave reached 5 meters, according to Ria Novosti.
At the same time, there is increased concern for the base of the Borei-A nuclear-powered submarine, located on the same peninsula in Russia, near the focus of the earthquake.
Although there has been no official confirmation for damage, social networks are referring to possible damage to the base facilities. The Russian authorities do not exclude the possibility of flooding from the tsunami waves – which would be a serious blow to the Pacific fleet.

Borei-A are the arch of the Russian Navy. They are a fourth generation underwater, equipped with state -of -the -art navigation instruments, sonar and missile systems. They have 16 intercontinental Bulava ballistic ballistic missiles, with a launch capacity even on the go.
