If there is one thing in which US president cannot resist Donald Trumpthis is the love that shows in King Charles.
“I love King Charles“, Donald Trump wrote in today’s (21.03.2025) post on the Truth Social platform, sharing an article in The Sun newspaper that British monarch intends to propose to Washington a form of partial participation in the Commonwealth.
Trump’s reaction to joining the International Union based on the ruins of British colonialism: “It sounds good to me”!
The US, of course, has its own history with British colonialism, as the 250th anniversary will be marked by the Declaration of Independence of the 13 founding states next year.
According to The Sun newspaper, King Charles will propose partial Washington integration into the Commonwealth During President Trump’s forthcoming visit to the Palace, in an attempt to alleviate tensions between the White House and Canada in the midst of their trade war and their diplomatic slide.
Canada, whom Trump would like to welcome to the 51st of the United States, is also part of the Commonwealth – he should not be confused with the US states that call themselves.
The British Commonwealth consists of 56 nations, including the United Kingdom and many of its former colonies.
