The American president made a “tough” choice, donald trump, who decided to replace all six members of the independent federal agency that was to review construction plans for the new banquet hall in White Housewhich has come under heavy criticism.
“We are preparing to appoint new nominees to the committee, more aligned with President Donald Trump’s America First policies,” a White House official told Reuters in an emailed message.
The Fine Arts Committee, consisting of architects and urban plannerswas composed of Congress before 100 and more years in order to provide tips in planning construction projects in the Washington area.
The Washington Post wrote earlier that the Trump administration sent letters to committee members announcing their removal.
“On behalf of President Donald Trump, I am writing to inform you that your duties as a member of the Committee on Fine Arts are being terminated, effective immediately,” a White House staff official wrote Tuesday (10/28/2025), in an email sent to one of the members.
A White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to the US newspaper, confirmed that all six members, who were appointed by former President Joe Biden, they were fired.

Construction began last week on the addition of Trump’s stateroom to the White House, a project expected to cost more than $350 million and is the first major change to the historic building in decades.
Critics, disappointed by the rapidity demolition of the entire East Wing of the White House, they argue that the audit should have been carried out before work began.
Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff and other members of the Senate yesterday demanded a “full accounting” from the White House on how the administration is funding the banquet hall plan. Trump, a former real estate mogul, he has said he will pay the cost himself along with donors.
“The opaque nature of this plan heightens concerns that President Trump is reselling presidential access to individuals or entities, including foreign nationals and corporate actors, with a vested interest in federal action,” Schiff wrote in a letter to White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, according to the Washington Post.
