Donald Trump also wants a third term in the US presidency, though the Constitution forbids it – “There are ways, I’m not joking”

Fires lit once again with his statements Donald Trump as he did not rule out the possibility of claiming a third term in the presidency of USA.

Indeed, Donald Trump in an interview with the NBC appears to be sure that there is a way to do so, although the US Constitution explicitly prohibits it, and made it clear that he is “not joking”.

“Many people want to do it,” Trump said in a telephone conversation on Sunday morning (30/03/2025) with NBC News, referring to his allies.

“But, I mean, basically I tell them that we have a long way to go, you know, it’s too early in government. I’m focusing on now, “he said.

When asked if he wanted another term, President Trump replied, “I like to work.”

“I’m not joking,” he said when he was asked to clarify. “But I don’t – it’s too early to think about it.”

When asked if plans have been presented to him that would allow him to claim a third term, Trump said: “There are methods you could do.”

The NBC News asked about a possible scenario in which Vice President Jay Di Vance would apply and then handed the role to Trump and replied that “this is a” method.

“But there are others,” Trump added.

When asked to share another method, Trump simply answered “no”.

The amendment of the Constitution to abolish the two term of terms would be extremely difficult, as it would require either two -thirds of Congress or two -thirds of the states that would agree to convene a constitutional assembly to propose changes. Each of the two ways would then require validation from the three -quarters of states.
