OR minister Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidouspeaking to SKAI, characterized the current prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakor as the most successful post-colonial leaderbased on empirical data and the absolute trust of citizens, at the same time commented on the recent statements of the former prime minister Antonis Samarasunderlining that “government answers have been given to the former prime minister”.
About the fiscal lighteningthe minister emphasized that these are not connected to previous governments, such as that of Alexis Tsipras or Antonis Samaras. “We provide solutions with specific measures voted on Friday. A family with many children gets back four salaries, a family with three children gets back three, with two children two and with one child a minimum wage per year”, he explained, adding that “nothing is enough, we must constantly implement new policies”.
For the migration program in Evros, Mrs. Michailidou stated that the aim is to strengthen the region as part of the demographic response. “We are encouraging people from there or who like the area to move to rural Greece, with promises of good hospitals and schools, plus some initial financial help.” However, he admitted difficulties in implementation: “Out of 600 applications, only two were valid, due to a lack of accountability on the part of applicants, even though we are constantly checking and implementing.”
