Heavy criticism of the government and the new refugee bill was filed by Dimitris KoutsoubasSecretary General of the Central Committee of the KKE, speaking to Parliament. He described the bill as a “shameful, racist and inhumane” bill, stressing that it was a continuation of the new EU pact on immigration and asylum, which, he said, was negotiated by SYRIZA and voted by ND with PASOK.
D. Koutsoubas argued that the real objective of the bill is not to protect refugees, but to strengthen the war economy and to suppress the victims of imperialist wars. He accused the governments of being involved in “cynical wicked” in war zones, such as Ukraine, with the aim of speculating Greek groups. He also criticized the government’s attitude towards the Palestinians, accusing it of close cooperation with the “Israeli State-Dolophone”, which he said, as he said, genocide.
According to the KKE Secretary -General, the policy pursued serves the internal political expediency of the ND, which uses the migration issue to approach its far -right audience. Mr Koutsoubas pointed out the contradiction between the privileged treatment of rich investors they acquire golden visaand the criminalization of thousands of immigrants living and working in the country for years. He described this policy as “deeply class”.
In addition, D. Koutsoubas has accused the government of paving the way for deportations in “safe” third countries, essentially creating “modern concentration camps”. He stressed that immigration and refugees are not a personal choice, but the result of the “rotten” capitalist system that generates wars, poverty and exploitation.
KKE’s proposals: Full implementation of Geneva Treaty
Concluding his speech, Dimitris Koutsoubas presented the KKE’s main proposals to deal with refugees:
- Complete application of the Geneva Treaty for Refugees.
- Fast procedures for the performance of asylum and travel documents.
- Granting permits To all refugees and immigrants living and working in Greece.
- Configuration of integrated social integration programs under the responsibility of the state, without the involvement of NGOs.
- Support of common matches Greek and immigrant workers against racism and fascism.
- Dormant of the country From the imperialist wars and the strengthening of solidarity with the suffering peoples.
Finally, he called on the people to strengthen their struggle to seize power in order to build a “own labor state” in a world without exploitation and wars.
