In addition, Dimitris Koutsoubas presented his own proposal for a pre -trial committee, which highlights the roots of the scandal and the responsibilities. He opposed the emergence of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office as an exclusive accusation, arguing that the European Union itself, through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), contributes to corruption. He also accused PASOK and SYRIZA – New Left of their proposals provide a “convenient opposition” and essentially “rinse” government responsibilities, as no other party has raised the CAP issue, which is the root of the problem, according to the KKE.
D. Koutsoubas emphasized that the EU’s “eligibility” paved the way for business interests and “remains” at the expense of thousands of farmers, as damage burdens the taxpayers. He commented that the European Public Prosecutor’s Office is not accidental, as there are contradictions within the EU on the amount of agricultural subsidies.
He also referred to “strong business interests” seeking redistribution of funds, with a 25% planned reductions in subsidies to farmers in the new multiannual budgetary framework 2028-2034, while total funds increase by 65%. This, according to him, marks a shift in the “war economy”, which the peoples will pay. Finally, he stressed that the revelations of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office can be exploited to accept the cuts that affect biologists.
The Secretary -General of the KKE argued that the case file shows multiple and powerful evidence for the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Rural Development, nameing M. Voridis and L. Avgenakis for complicity and moral injustices in infidelity. He called for the audit of other responsible ministers, deputy ministers and government officials, as well as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself, who is responsible for government work.
Despite the KKE’s disagreements with the political rationale of the other parties, D. Koutsoubas said his party would vote in favor of proposals for pre -trial, as they coincide with criminal responsibilities. He pointed out the risk of limitation for M. Voridis, blaming the “unacceptable law on the responsibility of ministerial” and accusing all the parties that rejected the KKE’s proposal for the abolition of Article 86 of the Constitution.
D. Koutsoubas concluded in his speech, stressing that the solution to the problems of the peasantry would come from the popular factor itself and the biopalarian farmers, demanding that politicians be paid 490 million euros of fines and not the honest farmers. He warned that the people, along with the workers, the youth and the self -employed, would not leave either the Government, the EU or their system.
