The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) has introduced four new online application forms for EU residence applicants who are in Denmark.
By introducing these four new online application forms, Denmark aims to make the process more straightforward, faster, and accessible on mobile phones or tablets, Schengen.News reports.
As an applicant, you will experience several upgrades. Among other things, it will be much easier to apply using your mobile phone or tablet. We therefore recommend that you apply online, since digital applications often can be processed faster.
As part of its move to upgrade the system, Denmark has moved the OD1 online form, used by EU/EEA citizens and their family members to apply for residence in Denmark under EU rules, to a new IT system and has divided it into four new separate forms.
The four new forms, which are tailored to meet specific applicant types, are as follows:
- OD1A – EU residence application form for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens or a posted service provider in Denmark
- OD1B – EU residence application form for family members of an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen
- OD1C – Application form for those who want to obtain permanent EU residence
- OD1D – Application form to change the grounds for EU residence in Denmark
The 4 New Forms Contain These Changes
As SIRI explains, the four new forms have a number of changes that aim to make them more user-friendly.
One of the main changes is that the forms in the new IT system have been optimised for both mobile phones and tablets.
Moreover, SIRI noted that the signed worn declaration has been removed from the forms. This means that applicant can now sign their applications by visiting SIRI (for OD1A and OD1B forms) or by using MitD (for OD1C and OD1D forms).
The signed sworn declaration has been removed, making it possible to sign the application either when appearing at SIRI (OD1A and OD1B) or using MitID (OD1C and OD1D).
In addition to the above-mentioned, the division into separate forms makes it easier for the applicants to undergo the process. Moreover, the online application is faster to complete and can be processed faster.
After the submission of the online application, applicants can now also log in to their profile in the new system and see the submitted online application.
This change has been seen as advantageous for both SIRI and applicants. Physical applications can still be submitted.
