Danish intelligence services today accused Moscow (25.04.2025) of orchestrating an misinformation campaign that the Danish MP requested Russia to intervene against Donald Trump for Greenland.
Publications circulating on social media in January claimed that Karsen Hongga, a member of the Copenhagen Parliament, who represents the left -wing party “Socialistisk Folkeparti”, wanted to prevent this autonomous territory of Denmark from becoming independent and that his country had to ask for this country.
A falsified photo showing a message on Facebook signed by Hong was included in these posts: “False news” was reported by the MP in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

The Danish Army Intelligence Service (FE) today estimated that this campaign came from Russia.
“The fake message originates from an influencer who has already supported Russia’s rafts in Ukraine,” FE said.
Danish intelligence services clarified that they had received information from Viginum, the French Organization for Foreign Digital Interference, according to which the person “belongs to a network of influence that acts on behalf of the Russian state”.
This campaign must be observed in the light of “ongoing an influence business in which Russia is trying to create a gap in transatlantic relations and undermine Western support in Ukraine,” FE said.
Since returning to the White House, Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to annex Greenland which, in his opinion, has been necessary in the US for security reasons, causing great tension with Copenhagen.
Trump did not exclude military action to occupy Greenland.
Polls show that the large majority of 57,000 Greenland residents expect to become independent of Denmark, do not want to become Americans.
