The Minister of National Defense for the Memorandum of Understanding of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning

The Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias and the commander of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), George Pitsilis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of National Defense and the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Independent Public Revenue Authority today.

The purpose of the Memorandum, as announced by the Ministry of National Defense, It is the mutual exchange of know -how, the provision of education, the cooperation of assets control and the optimization of audit processes and practices.

Cooperation is also aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of controls, fighting corruption, ensuring transparency, as well as protecting the public interests of the State in the context of their responsibilities, the announcement is added.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum, which was held at the Ministry of National Defense, was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Thanassis Davakis, the Chief of the General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, the Director of the Directorate of Financial Inspection Colonel Dimitrios Mastoras and the Director of the Home Affairs Division of AADE, Sarantis Belias.

“The subject of the Memorandum is to provide know -how, education, from the Independent Authority to the Ministry of Defense’s Home Affairs Service,” Mr Dendias said, adding: “The country, for the first time in its history, is proceeding with a long -term design of equipment programs. In what is called BAE, which will be presented tomorrow at KYSEA. This will mean that the Greek taxpayer’s backlog will be invested in systems to ensure the security of the homeland for the next 12+8 years, that is, for the next 20 years. “

According to him, ‘it is an institutional obligation of the Ministry, the Government, to secure Transparency in managing the lag of the Greek people ยป. “Therefore, the Ministry’s Home Affairs Service will acquire control over the contracts and execution of equipment contracts,” he explained. “

“But to be able to respond to its new, very expanded role, knowledge needs, you need know -how. This know -how – and I am grateful for that – will be provided by the Greek State itself, the Independent Public Revenue Authority, “Mr Dendias stressed.

He also thanked Mr. Pitsilis “for the willingness and kindness with which he accepted our request to be able to do what is necessary”.

For his part, the Governor of AADE said: “In the Independent Public Revenue Authority we are systematically investing in our internal control, we have developed structures for both procedures control and the control of individual cases.”

“We have,” he continued, “now an experience in financial data controls and we will be very pleased to share this know -how with the Ministry of National Defense.”

“It is also an opportunity for us not only to convey knowledge, but also to get the knowledge themselves through this process, because we will also be able to see issues and areas where we can improve our own processes,” Mr Pitsilis said.

Finally, he thanked Mr Dendia “for the confidence” but also “the officials of the Ministry of National Defense and the Independent Public Revenue Authority that worked very intensively to have the Memorandum of Understanding we signed today.”
