The President of the Democracy Movement, Stefanos Kasselakiswill participate in the works of the General Assembly of the Institute of European Democrats (IED), which will take place on September 5-7, 2025 in Stresa, Italy.
This General Assembly is of particular importance, as the elections will be held to raise the new Board of Directors of the Institute, with several changes in the composition of its executives. At the same time, it will be an important opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between members of the Institute and to draw new strategies at European level.
The participation of the Democracy Movement and the president of Stefanos Kasselakis in the General Assembly is part of the party’s active presence in European democratic institutions and the continuous empowerment of dialogue with his partners.
The president will have contacts with European leaders, MEPs and institutional representatives, with the aim of promoting the positions of the Republic Movement, participating in the formation of European policies and cooperation with common challenges, such as:
• Economic growth and resilience to the EU
• Energy Security and Green Transition,
• Social justice and support of the new generation and
• Strengthening the rule of law and transparency
The General Assembly of the ID will also be a significant starting point for the planning of common initiatives, reinforcing the role of the democracy movement in the European political map.
