Convicted of sexual abuse and rape children and former rock singer complex Lostpropets, Ian Watkins, was assassinated after an attack with a knife in prison.
The 49 -year -old was sentenced to 29 years in prison in HMP Wakefield prison in Britain after confessing a series of sexual offenses, including an infant’s attempted rape. Today, Saturday (11.10.2025), the former frontman of the band Lostprophets was found dead after being attacked by other prison prisoners.
A prison spokesman said they could not comment on the case while the police were conducting the investigation.
West Yorkshire police reported that a detective of the homicide and serious investigation group conducted an investigation after a prison staff reported by a prisoner who was declared dead at the incident on Saturday morning.
Watkins had also been stabbed in a previous incident in the same prison in 2023, suffering wounds that did not threaten his life, as he reportedly been captured by three other prisoners before being released by prison guards six hours later.


Watkins was arrested after executing a drug warrant at his home in Pontypridd on September 21, 2012, when a large number of files were seized on computers, mobile phones and USB.
During his conviction in Cardiff’s court, the singer was informed that he was sentenced to a prolonged sentence, while the judge said his crimes “reached new levels of corruption”.
After being arrested by cell phone in prison in 2019, he told the court that he was a prisoner in an institution along with “criminals, serial killers, rapists, pedophiles and the worst of the worst”.
