Dead German Olympian Laura Dalmier – killed while climbing in the Pakistani mountains

Her last breath at the age of 31 was left by the “golden” Olympian of the Diathlon Laura Dalmier. The German champion was killed while climbing the mountains Pakistan.

The accident took place on Monday afternoon (28/7/2025) at an altitude of about 5,700 meters at the top of Layla, according to the Pakistani Alpine Club. Dalmaire climbed her mountaineering partner when she was hit by a sudden rock fall in the Hassa valley, part of the northern Gilgit-Balistan area.

Bad weather prevented a rescue helicopter from reaching the point.

Dalmier, 31, retired from the cross -section in 2019, at the age of 25, a year after becoming the first woman in the race to win the gold medal in the sprint and Pursuitt at the same Olympics, Pyongsang (N. Korea, 2018).

In addition to her role as a special commentator for the German ZDF channel during the World Cups, she later became a climber and received a mountain certification.
