The service clarified that the type of ransomware software used in cyberattack has been identified, with an ongoing investigation with the involvement of judicial authorities.
This announcement is the first official confirmation that extensive damage was not due to a technical problem, but to malicious cyberattack. Security authorities are continuing investigations to identify those responsible.
In Berlin, air traffic remains problematic as more than 92,000 travelers were expected on Monday – a number increased due to the marathon held the day before.
