The enhancement of cooperation with the USA Heralded China today (23.7.25) in view of trade negotiations which will take place next week in Stockholm.
Specifically, US Finance Minister Scott Bessed confirmed yesterday (22.7.25) that he would meet his Chinese counterparts in Stockholm next week to carry out trade negotiations, thereby enhancing the possibility of extending the “ceasefire”, initially set.
The two strongest economies in the world have imposed on each other from the beginning of the year for prohibitive duties, raising concerns for economic and financial players before they came up with a precarious “truce”.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced today that the Chinese Vice President of the Chinese government will visit Sweden on July 27-30 to have financial and commercial talks with US officials.
China hopes to work with the US “on the basis of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit,” a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry commented today.
“We will enhance consensus, reduce misunderstandings, improve cooperation and promote a steady, healthy and sustainable development of Sino -American relations,” said Guo Jiakun in a regular update of journalists in Beijing.
According to Bessed, talks could cover a larger range of issues and include the market from China oil from Iran and Russia, where US sanctions have been imposed.
