Informal preparatory meeting to enhance security in university institutions after the latest phenomena lawlessnesstook place today at the Maximos Palace under the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakiswith the participation of the relevant government officials.
Specifically, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharakis, the Deputy Minister of Education responsible for higher education, Nikos Papaioannou and the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Ministry of Education would present a next few days a set of specific sentenceswhich will be translated into immediate legislative and operational initiatives. As emphasized, the word “key” to these interventions will be “consistency” -at all levels.
Phenomena phenomena will face consequences both criminal and disciplinary and urban. Similarly, sanctions will also be provided for those academic institutionswhich do not comply with the law or ignore relevant decisions of the Authorities.
Particular emphasis was placed on the urgent need for the universal implementation of security plans by all higher education institutions in the country. As noted at the meeting, the previous one has already been given: on the one hand, the dozens of discharge and targeted operations by the Greek Police – after the abolition of “asylum lawlessness” by the Mitsotakis government – and on the other by the measures adopted in the field of sports.
The government line highlights the need for complete application of the law and by universities, following the example of the stadiums, where for the first time in decades, measures are fully implemented and are measurable effective.
