The Foreign Ministry condemns the illegal transition of Turkish President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish officials in the occupied territories in order to inaugurate a project that highlights and promotes the secessionist entity, in violation of international legality and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
In this context, the character attempted to be given to the illegal visit is in full function with the rise of Turkish rhetoric on “solution of two states”, while at the same time revealing the Turkish intentions for complete control over the occupied areas of Cyprus.
The visit is followed by Mr Tatar’s recent statements about the expectation of further actions to promote the pseudo -state, as well as Ankara’s efforts to impose its will on Turkish Cypriots on issues related to the cultural identity of the Turkish Cypriot community, such as the Turkish Cypriot community.
It has been added to the ongoing violations of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus, which the international community has condemned.
