The design refresh that BMW has reserved for the 5 Series is limited and it takes an… experienced eye to notice. But the large luxury family model is much more upgraded in other areas, such as equipment and engines.
The latter are becoming more economical and already meet Euro 6 emission standards.
New basic diesel version for the 5-speed sedan and Touring is the 518d, with the 2-liter engine producing 143 PS and consuming in a combined cycle 4.5 lt/100 km (119 g/km). The 520d (with 184 PS) will also be available as xDrive (also in Sedan and Touring).
This increases the four-wheel drive versions available for the sedan to eight and to seven for the Touring. In the case of the 5 GT, four engines can be combined with the xDrive system.
