She also referred to collaborating with other partners, stressing “her determination to work with her partners to tackle this new reality for the global economy, acknowledging that every commercial partner will act in accordance with his own priorities.”
At the same time, they referred to security and defense issues, with the President of the European Commission reiterating “the EU’s strong commitment to work closely with the United Kingdom” on these issues.
Finally, they discussed preparations for the forthcoming EU – United Kingdom summit on May 19, while von der Laen confirmed that she would meet with the Prime Minister in London on April 24, on the occasion of the International Summit for the Energy Security.
