Its decisive contribution to the development of the Greek economy and society is confirmed by the study of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) for its socio-economic footprint Coca-cola In Greece (Coca-Cola Three Epsilon and Coca-Cola Hellas), which was presented as part of an event with customers, suppliers and partners of the company.
The IOBE study covers the period 2022-2024 and examines Coca-Cola’s contribution to the national economy, domestic employment and the impact on the value chain of activities associated with the soft drinks industry, such as local suppliers, points of sale and services.
As reflected in the study, Coca-Cola’s productive and distributive model in Greece creates with its customers, suppliers, people and thousands of businesses, a wider chain of value that leaves a calculative footprint in Greece over time.
Specifically, in the three years 2022-2024, Coca-Cola in Greece implemented investments of EUR 142 million to boost its activity, while according to 2024 data, the total contribution of the value chain it creates in the country is reflected as follows:
For the national economy:
- 2.2 billion influence on the country’s GDP (0.9% of GDP)
- For every 1 euro added value of Coca-Cola in Greece, a total of 6.9 are created in the Greek economy
- EUR 875 million is the total contribution to public revenue, which accounts for 1.2% of state tax revenue
- Creating an income of 344 million euros in Greek households
For employment:
- Supports 50,700 total jobs (1% of total employment)
- For every 1 immediate job at Coca-Cola in Greece, another 21 are created in the Greek economy
For market and soft drinks industry:
- Represents 55% of the turnover of the industry
- Employs 40% of the workers in the industry, being the largest employer in the industry

The study was prepared by the IOBE based on the financial data for the period 2022-2024 by Coca-Cola Three Epsilon, Coca-Cola in Greece and Coca-Cola HBC MEPE, a local subsidiary of the Coca-Cola HBC Group.
