Christian Kivou is the new coach of Inter

OR Inter found her new coach! Six days after the departure of Simone Inzaghi, this year’s Champions League finalist announced the hiring of former team footballer Christian Kivou.

“Inter Milan welcomes Christian Kivou, a new coach of the first team, who signed a two -year contract until June 30, 2027,” the Milan club said in a statement.

The 44 -year -old Romanian knows Inter very well, as he competed with the “Nerazzurri” jersey from 2007 to 2014, culminating in the 2010 Treble Championship.

After retiring from active action, he began his coaching career at Inter Academy, from 2018 to 2021, and then took over the Primavera (the Youth Group), which he cooked from 2021 to 2024.

He left Inter at the end of last season and was hired in February 2025 from Parma, which was then in a difficult position.

In his first experience as a coach in Serie A, Kivou managed to secure Parma’s stay (finished 16th), with three wins – among them against Juventus and Atalanta – seven draws and three defeats.

Thus, with only 13 training experiences in Serie A, he succeeds Inzaghi, who gave Al Hilal’s rich proposal from Saudi Arabia, signing a 50m -euro contract for two years.

Under the guidance of Inzaghi (2021-2025), Inter won a championship (2024), two Italian Cups (2022, 2023), and played in two of the last three Champions League finals.

Kivou was not Inter’s first choice. The club, who lost the 2025 championship for just one point from Napoli, wanted to hire the Spanish Cesk Fabregas. But Como, which led to the 10th place of Serie A, refused to release it.

With him, Kivou will have the technical staff and Walter Samuel, with Argentina leaving his place in the “Biancosleste” coaching staff to return to Milan and a team he served as a footballer.
