China launched an investigation against US Qualcomm for possible violation of laws against monopolies

The competent state authority of China For market regulations (CSAMR), an investigation against the US multinational microcircuit and semiconductor production company (TSIP), Qualcomm with the suspicion of violating Chinese legislation against monopolies.

The research is focusing on the acquisition of Autotalks, a Technology Technology Supplier, from Qualcomm and the US company’s failure to announce all of the companies it controls, as provided by Chinese legislation, China’s supervisory authority said in a statement. The acquisition agreement was announced in June.

The US company said, for its part, that it is fully working together and is committed to supporting growth, customers and partners. Qualcomm sells smartphone chips to some of the biggest players in China, such as Xiaomi.

Qualcomm’s shares fell 4% yesterday Friday (10.10.2025), after Chinese regulators said they would investigate the acquisition of Chip Autotalks by the US technological giant, escalating tensions between the US and China.
