At least 4 people lost their lives and 17 are missing after landslides that hit today (22.05.2025) isolated zones of the Guitzou Mountain Province in southwestern Chinaannounced a state media.
Two landslides occurred in different areas in the Dafang area of China: the first night in Changsi and the second at noon in Kingiang, Guova, the CCTV state television network said.
“The accounts from the landslides in Guitzou province has increased to four dead, while 17 people are still missing,” the provincial government said, according to the state -run news agency Xinhua.
In shots recorded by a helicopter and promoted CCTV, a village that has been destroyed by a landslide and mud volumes have covered the crops.
The Ministry of Emergency has called on the rescue teams to mobilize “all possible means” to find the missing, stressing that businesses are “particularly difficult” in this remote area due to “abrupt” territory.

Guitzhou activated an emergency level II for geological disasters and the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources sent a team to the area to guide rescue operations.

The Ministry of Emergency Management called on the rescue teams to make every effort to lift the missing.
However, he said that the remote area was “tall and abrupt” and that rescue efforts were proven “difficult”.
