Chatzivasiliou from Kyiv: Greek businesses are ready to participate in Ukrainian rebuilding

Mr. Hadjivasiliou is headed by a business mission of leading Greek companies specializing in the fields of energy, networks, security, construction and infrastructure in 1st Greek-Ukrainian business forum held after the Russian invasion. As he said, the forum is a continuation of the bilateral contacts he had with members of the Ukrainian government during his previous visit, in March, focusing on rebuilding the country and boosting bilateral economic cooperation.

The deputy minister confirmed Greece’s steady support in defensive Ukraine. He also pointed out that Greece seeks to be an active partner in rebuilding the country’s critical infrastructure, especially in the fields of health, energy and transport.

He also referred to the Greek investment capabilities in the energy sector, recalling Greece’s decisive contribution to the formation of the “vertical gas corridor”, which, in combination with infrastructure in Alexandroupolis and Revithousa, will provide energy security to the wider area, including the wider area. “Energy independence is a pillar of national and regional security,” he said.

He made a special reference to the Greek construction and technology companies, which, as he pointed out, have experience and know -how in international projects. At the same time, it encouraged synergies in the pharmaceutical and medical field.

Mr Hadjivasiliou has completed by calling on the international community to enhance efforts to peace and recovery in Ukraine, stressing that “Ukraine’s rebuilding is a challenge that can bring mutual benefits and become a worldwide model”.

In addition, in the framework of the forum, he met with Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis, Maryna Denysiuk Undersecretary, and Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak, with whom he discussed the readiness of Greek companies to contribute to the rebuilding of Ukraine after the end of the war.
