Municipality Elliniko – Argyroupolis Visited on Tuesday morning (16/9) by the Attica Regional Governor, Nikos Chardaliasas part of his tours of all 66 Municipalities of Attica, where he had a working meeting with Mayor Yiannis Constantatos.
At the center of the discussion were found Projects of a total budget of EUR 7 millionexecuted or planned in the area – in the context of holistic strategic planning for the implementation of 281 large infrastructure projects in the coming years – with the aim of improving the conditions of daily life of residents, enhancing road safety, social cohesion and energy upgrading public buildings:
1. Reconstruction of Family Park “208”
One of the most important projects being carried out in the area, with a budget of € 2.07 million from the same resources of the Attica Region, concerns the redevelopment of the Municipal Park located at the age of 208.
The work will be installed new equipment, outdoor exercise organs, lawn, playground, “smart” living room and lighting, as well as a modern irrigation system.
2. Reconstruction of Marinio Center Marine
This is the operational upgrading of the surrounding area to a landmark of culture and education of the Municipality of Elliniko – Argyroupoli, with a total expense of € 1.36 million from Attica’s own resources.
The project concerns the supply of equipment, plant material and irrigation system. In particular, extensive additional planting and utilization of the existing green will be performed, while walking routes and restrooms will be formed, with the placement of modern urban equipment and the use of environmentally friendly materials. At the same time, all the specifications for the smooth accessibility of the site by residents and visitors will be met.
3. Improvement of pedestrian and electricity spaces in Avenue of Argyroupoli
The project, with a budget of EUR 2.12 million from the same resources of the Attica Region, is being implemented under the relevant program contract with the Municipality and concerns extensive interventions on the Avgiroupoli Avenue at a total length of 3 km.
In the context of the intervention, green zones will be created, and the places of waste installation will be reshaped. Particular concern is taken to ensure the accessibility of reduced vision and mobility people, as “drivers” of blind and ramps will be installed to remove elevation differences.

The proposed act of the Municipality concerns the construction of a new two -storey building for the Second KAPI, which is planned to be erected in the district of Agia Paraskevi Elliniko, on a municipal plot of 198 sq.m. The project budget amounts to EUR 1 million and the proposal is evaluated in the Attica RIP.
5. Energy interventions
At the same time, during the meeting, the completion of two energy upgrades were completed – at the Town Hall building in Argyroupoli, as well as at the 1st Elliniko Primary School – with funding of € 398,740 from the Attica Region.
Immediately after the work meeting held at the City Hall, the Regional Governor Nikos Chardalias accompanied by the mayor, Giannis Constantatoand officials of the Municipality, conducted an autopsy on the premises where the redevelopment projects will be implemented in Park 208 and the Marine Educational Center, as well as in places of Argyroupolis Avenue, where interventions are performed.
“The administration ends us with postponements and turns the announcements into tangible works. The Attica Southern Sector can not wait anymore, it needs immediate interventions that upgrade cities, reinforce everyday life and open new horizons for future generations. This is our vision and we do it with determination, “said the Attica Regional Governor, who thanked the Mayor for the excellent cooperation.
“Today, with the mayor and his associates, we found ourselves at the points where projects are going on: the redevelopment of the 208 Family Park, the Marine Educational Center and the wider area of the new bike path, L. Argiroupoli, the new KAPI-part of us, 280+1 projects, ”Mr. Chardalias pointed out.
He also added that ”We are not talking about promises, but of projects that are now evolving and will change the city. Together we go without delay, aiming for a southern Athens model of development, functionality and quality of life».
For his part, the Mayor of Elliniko – Argyroupolis, Giannis Constantatosthanked the Regional Governor for the implementation of projects that the area needs.
Mr Constantatos made a special mention in Mr Chardalia’s long -standing course in both degrees of self -government, as he pointed out “for us, Nikos Chardalias will always be the first mayor and then the regional governor – and this dual attribute makes him even more understanding the needs of the local communities.
