With one pistol of 22 millimeters and by contact the 23-year-old executed his uncle on Sunday afternoon and during a festival in his village of Elos Kissamos in Chania.
In front of the eyes of hundreds of people who were at the Chestnut festival in Elos Kissamos, the 52-year-old fell dead from the pistol of his relative.
According to the information so far, the 52-year-old had gotten up from the table where he was sitting with his company and were under the stage where the orchestra and the singer were Nikos Zoidakis. Then, his 23-year-old nephew approached him and after reaching a distance of two meters, he picked up the .22 and shot them three times in the chest and the heart. Panic immediately prevailed at the festival, while the police and EKAV were notified.
The 52-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later.
“It was about six o’clock, it was towards the end of the celebration. The assailant shot his victim directly. He didn’t shoot in the air. The party was coming to an end, there was still music. He was uncle and nephew, but a distant relation, not close,” he says in newsit.gr the president of the Elos community, Nikos Kyritsakis.
The perpetrator immediately disappeared, while the police have launched a manhunt for his arrest. However, from the family environment of the 23-year-old, there is information that he will be handed over in the next few hours, while in the village of Elos, mouths remain closed.
“We were scared by the shots”
“The truth is that they didn’t let us see much. We were in the car and we heard the shots and there were many of them. We got scared and started to leave quickly. People were panicking and running to get away too. When we left, we then saw the police and the ambulance running to the scene. There were too many people, we didn’t understand a fight earlier,” a resident of the village tells newsit.gr.
According to the data so far, the perpetrator and the victim had personal differences which had intensified when a few days ago the 52-year-old had slapped the 23-year-old. In fact, some are talking about another incident that took place a year ago. And then the 52-year-old allegedly hit his nephew.
The 52-year-old was known in the wider area, as in the past he had concerned the authorities for incidents of fights and petty tensions, while he had also been accused of neglecting animals.
