Today signed the contract for the upgrading of school courts In the Municipality of Sfakia at Chaniabudget 60,000 euros.
This is the project “Construction – Expansion and Maintenance of School Buildings”, which concerns the maintenance, repair and aesthetic upgrading of the backyards of the school complexes of Askifos and Anopolis.
According to the Municipal Authority, the Anopolis Elementary School provides the supply and placement of a wooden polygonal kiosk in the backyard, which will be used by students during breaks.
The Askifos Elementary School will be built a small stand of reinforced concrete, asphalted the courtyard of 700m2 for the creation of a football and perimeter corridors, and a special flat 5mx5m space will be built, where students can paint. At the same time, coatings will be carried out with cobblestones, a space for school vegetable gardening, a table in the backyard will be installed, repairs, coatings and colors will be performed and the necessary charts will be made on the court and the runways.
The aim of the project, according to Mayor Yiannis Zervos, is to improve and an aesthetic upgrade of the backyards of the schools, “so that their use by both students and teachers are pleasant and safe».
The Municipal Authority called on school students to design the space themselves as they envision it, so, in collaboration with their teachers, to capture ideas that form a valuable basis for the design and implementation of interventions by the Municipal Technical Service.
Work will begin immediately to complete in time and the upgraded spaces are ready to welcome students and teachers with the start of the new school year.
