Increased are the last days the bites of bites from anemones to the beaches of Chania, causing concern to bathers and residents of the area.
Reportedly only on Sunday at least recorded five incidents which needed cortisone medication to treat the symptoms of contact with this marine species.

What is marine anemone
The term marine anemone refers to various orthodontic polyps of the sea, their shape resembles a flower, hence the name anemone.
Anemones live near the shores. Few species live in deeper waters and very little in open waters. Most live nuns and very few colonies. As a rule, anemones live on rocks.
Some species live in the sand or mud, others stick to shells of various shellfish, while others live parasitic on jellyfish.
Anemones are carnivorous animals, but because they cannot move very easily, they depend on the food that will be involved in their extensive tentacles or their periphery. The victim caught first is first with the energy of their cribs and is then promoted with the mouth in the gastric cavity for digestion.
What do we do if we sting us sea winds
Sea anemone sting causes severe caustic pain and incredibly annoying itch. In the area where the sting, red bleeding plates and vibrant, bubble, bleeding or even a necripotent rash: in simpler words, burning rashes will appear.
In the event of an allergy, anaphylaxis is also possible.
The victims are transported to the hospital for injecting cortisone in order to subside swelling, rashes and itching.
