The police have launched a manhunt in Chania to locate her young assailant murder during the Chestnut Festival in Elos Kissamos.
The celebration at Elos Kissamos in Chania was turned into a tragedy by the brutal killing when a 52-year-old cattle farmer from the area was shot dead by point-blank range while he was on the dance floor during the festival.
The young assailant fled, has been identified and is being sought. According to information from cretapost, the perpetrator and the victim appear to be cousins and allegedly had old family disputes.
While the 51-year-old was dancing on stage for his name day, the attacker approached and shot him two to three times in the chest before fleeing.
The tragic event took place on Sunday night (26/10), during the Chestnut Festival, when the perpetrator approached the 51-year-old breeder and shot him in cold blood three times in the heart, in front of the terrified looks of those present.
“It was like time stopped,” describes an eyewitness. “People were shouting, trying to understand what had happened. No one could believe that such a thing happened in a celebration with such a happy atmosphere.”

As can be seen from the photos published by Creta24.gr, police men are operating with flashlights in the village square, at the place where the murder took place, examining the smallest detail, while at the same time relatives of the 52-year-old are in the Chania General Hospital.
The unfortunate man fell down covered in blood, while the organizers immediately notified EKAV.
An ambulance from the Kissamos Health Center rushed to the scene and the rescuers tried to revive him during his transfer to the Chania Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.
