On Thursday 26 June will meet House of Institutions and Transparency Committeeso that members of her new administration come to hear for hearing Railway Regulatory Authority (RAS).
The proposed persons
• Georgia Aifantopoulou: Dr. Civil Engineer Transport, First Tier Researcher and Research Director at EKETA/IMET, he is proposed for President of RAS. It has 35 years of experience in all means of transport in design, optimal management using intelligent systems, as well as evaluation and sustainable operation of transport systems in Greece and Europe. It has implemented a large number of national and European projects for the digital transition of transport and supply chain systems. He is a member and vice -president of European organizations who support innovation in transport. • Michalis Chrysomallis: Emeritus Professor of EU Law at the Law School of DUTH is proposed for Vice President. He has been a dean, sector manager and header Jean Monnet. It is specializing in issues of rule of law and European governance.
• Stylianos Efstathiadis: Civil Engineer – Transport, is proposed as a regular member. He has many years of experience as a transportation projects and former chairman of the Railway Investigation Committee.
• Petros Papagiannakis: Managing Director of the Spanish-French Infrastructure Manager of Línea Figueras Perpignan, is proposed as a regular member. He has managed rail projects in France, Spain and Baltic, and is active in EU advisory bodies.
• George Stefanidis: Transport professor, proposed as a regular member. He has contributed to the National Transport Systems Strategy and has participated in European research projects on Transport and Transport Management Technologies.
The new composition of the Authority will be called upon to play a crucial role in checking it rail safety, Monitoring of interoperability, and enhancing transparency and competition in rail transport, upgrading the role of the Authority, in accordance with the European and national institutional framework.
