In the sectors of tourism and catering, the declared overtime have increased by 681% and 180% respectively, which – according to the ministry – means more legal revenue for workers and state.
On the front of employment, Niki Kerameos emphasized that unemployment is at the lowest level since 2008, with more than 500,000 citizens finding a job compared to five years ago. Responding to opposition criticism, he noted that the public dialogue focuses on a single provision, ignoring the rest of the working bill. Among the interventions cited is the institutionalization of four -day work throughout the year, the expansion of access to pregnancy and pregnancy benefits, the establishment of the parental permit allowance as a tax -free, unexplained and unmistakable, tightening of health rules and safety rules, Mothers and the prohibition of reducing remuneration in sectors where the digital work card is applied.
