The Minister of Labor emphasized the importance of the new Job Match application, especially for tourism and catering sectors
The targeted policies implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security to reduce unemployment, were developed by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameos, in an interview with the SKAI radio station.
Specifically, the Minister of Labor has attributed this significant reduction, inter alia, to subsidized employment and entrepreneurship programs, which aim for women, young people and people with disabilities, the emphasis placed on training and re -establishment programs in skills in demand in the market, as well as the successful success of Greece.
For “Career Days”, Mrs Kerameos noted that 44 “career days” have taken place in 18 different cities in Greece, while abroad have been conducted in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, London and tomorrow in Stuttgart. “Why Stuttgart? Because we have too many Greeks. It is probably the second most populous city in Europe with a Greek element. We go with over 30 Greek businesses, because they are looking for people. Here’s how all this helps to stimulate employment in our country. So, it is not 8.3%, it is done with a coordinated effort of many factors and initiatives, “he said.
In addition, the Minister of Labor emphasized the importance of the new Job Match application, especially for tourism and catering sectors, which helps employees find the right jobs appropriate for them, such as salary and experience that they will put in implementation and businesses to fill in vacancies. At the same time, Mrs Kerameos also referred to the digital work card, which, in the last year, has expanded to about 1.5 million workers in the industry, retailing, tourism and catering and is an important tool for combating undeclared and dedicated work.
“In March, we had the first application of the digital work card in tourism. You know what we have seen in only one month in the reported overtime. Month off season? A 637% increase in overtime declared, “the Minister of Labor said, noting that it is a measure that protects the worker, as well as healthy competition between businesses and returning a dividend to society.
Concerning the acceleration in the process of issuing pensions, Mrs Kerameos said that for the main pensions the issuance time has been reduced from 500 days, on average, to 48. Auxiliary issuance needs more time, which is expected to be significantly reduced by 2026 and after the completion of the project.
