The presumption will no longer be determined by the cubic feet of the car, but by the CO2 emissions, in alignment in the way that already determines the traffic charges.
The transition to emission criterion introduces a gradual charge per gram of CO2, with four zones covering low to high emissions. The lower the emissions, the smaller the presumption. Thus, newer or more efficient models may see a substantial reduction in the so -called objective living expenses of their owner, in relation to the current system that punishes equally vehicles with the same cubic but very different pollutant performance.
Who concerns
The arrangement mainly catches vehicles that are over decade at age, but also fresher classifications, where pollutant specifications are usually lower. At the same time, older high -emission cars remain exposed to higher burdens, even if they have a small cubic.
For hybrids, the emission scale works favorably due to lower consumption and limited pollutants, which significantly squeezes the presumption. In purely electric, there is a zero presumption for vehicles for up to 50,000 euros, while for more expensive models the presumption is limited to a significantly lower level than today. This shape locks a cost of use for electric drive, but without leaving out the middle classes.
Change affects demand as models with adequate power but better energy efficiency become more attractive, while some categories burdened by the old system may regain market share again.
The link between CO2 evidence is considered fairer and closer to European practices.
However, those planning a purchase or replacement of a vehicle should now carefully look at the official CO2 grams of the model who are interested and not just cubic. The current sale price, the existence of hybrid technology and whether the version falls within the limit for zero or reduced supplies in electricity, will determine the actual annual cost of use much more than in the past.
