Ending the action of a group of minors responsible for a series of robberies in convenience stores in the area of Byron Authorities succeeded after a coordinated operation. The disintegration of the gang is the result of the cooperation of the Athens Criminal Prosecution and Criminal Court with Police Officers of the DIAS Group.
Specifically, on Wednesday afternoon, men of the DIAS team. They arrested three 17 -year -olds – two Greeks and one alien. The young people are accused of setting up a gang to commit robbery, theft, infringement of the law on weapons and causing foreign property damage.
Their criminal activity, allegedly launched at least in March 2025, included robbery raids on Byron convenience stores. The young perpetrators, operating with a flexible composition and alternating roles, approached their pedestrian goals, making sure to cover their facial features with hoods. By threatening the employees of the shops with a kitchen knife, and in at least one case they used a pistol-rap, they deducted money. The team preferred to act in the evening or very early hours, taking advantage of reduced traffic, and using a specific type of clothing in its businesses. An an attempt to break a shop is also recorded, during which stones were thrown into a glass pane.
During the investigations that followed their arrest, they were found in possession of minors and confiscated:
- A pistol-rap
- A kitchen knife
- Two full-face hoods
- ‘Operational’ clothing they used when committing robberies
- Four mobile phones
The preliminary investigation, carried out by the Athens Criminal Prosecution and Delineation, has so far led to five cases of robberies and theft in shops in the wider Byron area.
The three 17 -year -old detainees were led to the competent prosecutor’s office.
