The very strong rainfall caused flooding in the southeast Bulgaria They claimed the lives of three people in Eleate, a Black Sea resort, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov announced on Friday (03.10.2025).
“There are two rescuers among the victims: one of the border guard and the other is a tractor driver,” Mitov said, speaking of the tragic report by floods in Bulgaria on the country’s public radio.
The third victim was drowned in a hotel because of the sudden rise of the waters, authorities said.5

Floods were damaged by buildings and roads.

“We see many cars that have been drifted to the sea. An unmanned aircraft was sent to the area ‘to determine if there were passengers inside the vehicles, Deputy Minister of Interior Tony Todorov said at a press conference he gave to Sofia.
Many communities in southeast and northwestern Bulgaria have been declared an emergency.
Environmentalists have been an alarm for years, denouncing the building on the Black Sea coast, which increases damage when natural disasters occur.
