BSE: to take immediate action at EU level to reduce energy prices

In view of the publication of the Clean Industrial State Aid Framework – Cisaf on June 25th, Seb In collaboration with the industrial and employers’ associations of Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Austria, Portugal and Slovakia, he issued a joint statement on June 19th to top European officials requesting the inclusion of the provisions of the provisions of the provisions of the provisions of the provisions of the provisions of the Member States. European Union (Ee) Adopted targeted measures to support electricity prices in industry.

As BSE points out, this is a top issue, as Cisaf is one of the latest opportunities to tackle Europe’s accelerated de -industrialization. But to date, there have been no EU measures that are directly and effectively facing the high energy costs in industry.

Today, existing price differences within the EU distort competition, while previous attempts by Member States to establish targeted support measures to reduce energy costs for industry, such as Green Pool, did not receive approval from the European Commission, mainly due to an overly close implementation of state rules.

It is therefore absolutely necessary and critical to include in the CISAF effective industry support provisions in the implementation of Europe’s strategic reducing, ensuring the viability and competitiveness of production and maintaining jobs.

“Existing energy prices are unfortunately not viable. We see, however, that the competent European authorities are reluctant to take immediate and effective measures. The solutions, undoubtedly, are not easy. They require courage, insight and substantial consultation of the EU with businesses. With this joint BSE initiative and other European associations, we are sending a clear message: Greek and European businesses cannot wait any longer. We need specific measures to reduce energy prices now, “said the Chairman of the Board of Directors. by BSE Spyros Theodoropoulos.
