Brunner: Meetings scheduled in Benghazi were unable to take place

By posting the European Commissioner for Immigration Brunner downgraded what They took place in Benghazi and led to the cancellation of the EU delegation with representatives of the unrecognized government in East Libya.

In his post, Brunner emphasized the meetings made by the Dbamba government in Tripoli and said that scheduled meetings in Benghazi could not be held.

In detail his post:

We have just completed our mission to Libya along with ministers responsible for immigration from Greece, Italy and Malta.

In Tripoli, we had a thorough discussions with Prime Minister DBeibeh, Foreign Minister Al-Baour, Interior Minister Trabelsi and Labor Minister Al-Abed. We discussed the common challenges in the field of immigration and confirmed our common commitment to combat illegal trafficking of immigrants. This mission laid the foundations for wider cooperation.

The meetings scheduled for Benghazi could not eventually be held.
