Conservative MP Alberto Costa, chairman of the Inter -Parliamentary Group for Greece, proposed as a solution to the case with Parthenon sculpturesa permanent lending to Greece.
According to the British MP’s proposal, the Parthenon sculptures could be exhibited at the Acropolis Museum in the context of a permanent “lending” and also provided alternative forms of cultural exchange.
According to Alpha’s report, Mr. Costa suggested, among them, the free entry of British visitors to the Acropolis Museum and periodicals of Greek antiquities in the British museums.
Britain’s Minister of Cultural Affairs hastened to reply that the current legislation does not allow such a permanent borrowing of the sculptures.
