The Duchess of Kent has passed away at the age of 92, as his palace announced Buckingham. According to the announcement, the Duchess of Kent died yesterday, Thursday (04.09.2025), in the evening at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
“With deep sadness the Buckingham Palace announces the death of this greatness of the Duchess of Kent,” the Buckingham Palace said on Friday. “His greatness died peacefully last night at the Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family. The king and the queen and all the members of the royal family unite with the Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning for her loss and in the warm memory of her lifelong dedication to all the organisms with whom she was associated with her passion for her music and music.

Born as Kathryn Worsley, he joined the royal family when he married Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Queen Elizabeth’s cousin in 1961, having met him five years earlier when he served in the army in the north. They had three children.
After Elizabeth’s death in 2022, the Duchess became the oldest alive member of the royal family.
He was known for the moving moments he gave to Wimbledon when in 1993 he comforted the tearful Jana Novotna after the final, and later abandoned the title of this Majesty (HRH), preferring to be called “Mrs. Kent”.
The Duchess was a great supporter of music as she enhanced charities.
In fact, she taught the same music at a Hali Elementary School.
In 1994, became Catholicwhich was made by the first royal family member who transformed her faith for over 300 years.
In the last years of her life she had retired from the use of the royal title and had been devoted to enhancing music education for young people.
