Bevan was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum sentence of 28 years, for the murder of 2-year-old Lola James, daughter of his then-partner, in 2020. During his trial in 2023, the court heard he caused the child “catastrophic” brain injuries and more than 100 injuries in a “brutal” attack inside the family home. Judge Martin Griffiths described his actions as a “savage display of power over a helpless child”.
Her mother, Lola, was jailed for six years for “allowing or causing” her daughter’s death, leaving her in Bevan’s charge.
Lostprophets pedophile singer Ian Watkins dead in the same prison
Bevan’s death comes less than a month after murder of notorious pedophile and singer Ian Watkins, who was fatally stabbed on October 11 in the same prison.
Ian Watkins, the former frontman of Welsh rock band Lostprophets, who was serving a 35-year sentence for child sex offences, has been murdered in prison.
Watkins was convicted in 2013 after pleading guilty to 13 charges. He had admitted two counts of attempted rape, sexually assaulting a child under 13, aiding and abetting the sexual assault of a child under 13, conspiracy to rape a child under 13 and conspiracy to sexually assault another child under 13.
He had also pleaded guilty to six counts of receiving and possessing child pornography and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.
