Brian Thompson: Fountains and lakes in Central Park are being searched for clues to the CEO’s murder

In the fountains and lakes of his Central Park Manhattan they are looking for information about the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, authorities in New York.

“The lead is closing,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams said of the suspect in the cold-blooded killing of Brian Thompson who has yet to be identified.

However, it is believed that he used buses to get to and from New York and that he arrived in Manhattan on a bus that started in Atlanta, Georgia – but it is not known at what point on the route exactly he got on.

The search for the man who killed the CEO of the largest US health insurance company continues in a “targeted attack”as the police believe.

Officers checked the park for evidence and found his bag there. The NYPD has since released a statement two additional photographs of the suspected perpetrator which appear to come from a camera mounted inside a taxi.

The first shows him outside the vehicle and the second shows him looking through the partition between the back seat and the front of the cabin. In both, his face is partially covered by a blue mask.

The backpack found in the park contained Monopoly money and shells with words written on them.

These are just some of the details released by the New York Police Department five days after a masked gunman fatally shot the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in the heart of Manhattan.

“As I say, the line is getting narrower,” Eric Adams said. “This has been an extremely difficult investigation,” he added, and confirmed that police units are checking the fountains and lakes in Central Park. Members of the New York Police Department’s dive team are seen in the water near the Bethesda Fountain on Sunday (08.12.2024).

The masked gunman shot Thompson at an unknown distance at 6:44 a.m. on Dec. 4 outside the Hilton Midtown in New York, where Thompson’s company was holding an investor conference. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the attack as “brazen” and “targeted.” The suspect is believed to have left the scene of the shooting and fled on a bicycle north to the park.

The New York mayor declined to comment on specifics, saying only that “every piece is important.” And he spoke generally about ongoing underwater research.
