BoG: New deposits and loan rates have been reduced in August

Declined interest rates Deposits and grants in August, resulting in the margin between them remaining almost unchanged at 4.34%, according to Bank of Greece data (BCT).

Specifically, the weighted interest rates on new deposits and loans decreased to 0.31% and 4.45%, respectively, according to BoG data. The average weighted interest rate of all new deposits decreased by 3 basis points, compared to the previous month, and was 0.31%. The one -day one -day deposit rate remained unchanged to 0.03%, while the corresponding deposit rate from businesses decreased by 3 basis points and stood at 0.10%.

The average interest rate on deposits up to 1 year of households decreased by 4 basis points to 1.12%, while the corresponding deposit rate was also reduced by 7 basis points and stood at 1.62%.

In the loan side, the average weighted interest rate of all new loans to households and businesses decreased by 4 basis points and stood at 4.45%.

In particular, the average interest rate on consumer loans without a specified duration (category involving credit card loans, open loans and over -accounts from running accounts) remained almost unchanged at 14.66%.

The average interest rate on consumer loans with a specific duration and a floating rate increased by 31 basis points to 11.47%, while the average interest rate on floating rate loans also increased by 19 basis points and stood at 3.55%.

The average interest rate on business loans without a specified duration remained almost unchanged at 4.50%. The corresponding interest rate on business loans remained unchanged at 6.87%.

The average interest rate on new business loans with a specific duration and floating rate decreased by 8 basis points and stood at 3.71%. The average interest rate on the expiry loans at a floating rate to small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs) increased by 13 basis points and stood at 4.11%. Regarding the stretching of interest rates on the amount of the loan, it is noted that the average interest rate for loans up to 250,000 remained almost unchanged at 4.71%, for loans from 250.001 to 1 million euros decreased by 5 basis points to 4.21%, while for loans above EUR 9 million.
