Rose by 350m euros the deposits Households and private non -profit institutions in April 2025, reaching € 148.7 billion, against a reduction of EUR 158 million last month, according to the Bank of Greece (TG).
As the BoG figures show, the annual rate of change remained unchanged at 2.6% compared to the previous month. On the contrary, a decrease of EUR 1,145 million was reported in April 2025, business deposits, compared to € 2,563 million in the previous month, and the annual rate of change decreased to 9.3% from 11.9% in the previous month.
In particular, MXE deposits decreased by EUR 1,161 million, compared to an increase of EUR 2,436 million last month. Deposits of insurance companies and other financial institutions increased by EUR 16 million, up by € 127 million last month.
Overall, private sector deposits decreased by EUR 795 million in April 2025, compared to € 2,405 billion in the previous month, while the annual change rate decreased to 4.2% from 4.8% in the previous month. In addition, in April 2025, the General Government’s deposits were reduced by EUR 1,046 billion last month, and the annual rate of change decreased to 11.8% from 12.1% last month.
In the lending side the monthly net flow of total funding to the private sector was negative by € 98 million, against a positive net flow of € 1,952 billion last month. However, the annual rate of change in total private sector funding increased to 10.9% from 10.3%.
More specifically, the monthly net flow of funding to businesses in April 2025 was negative by € 94 million, compared to a positive net flow of € 1.867 billion last month, while the annual rate of change increased to 17.0% from 16.0% in the previous month.
In particular, the annual rate of change in non -financial funding (MSE) increased to 17.2% from 16.8% last month. The monthly net flow of their funding was negative by € 92 million, against a positive net flow of € 1,938 billion last month.
The annual rate of change in funding for insurance companies and other financial institutions increased to 15.5% from 10.0% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of their funding was negative of € 2 million, against a negative net flow of € 71 million last month. Positive by € 30 million was the monthly net flow of funding to individuals and private non -profit institutions in April 2025, against a positive net flow of € 52 million last month. The annual rate of change in their funding stood at -0.3% from -0.5% last month.
