US officials told their European counterparts during meetings in Paris on April 17 that they aim to secure a full ceasefire in Ukraine in weeks.
The meetings included discussions between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the envoy of Trump Steve Vitkov and French President Emmanuel Macron, while Ukrainian officials were present.
According to the report, Europeans have asked the Americans to prepare a package of “harsh sanctions” against Russia, which will be imposed immediately if Russia does not comply with the plan if it agrees.
