In the darkness sank on Tuesday (29/7/25) the Chalkida Due to a serious problem in the power grid that led to power outage.
According to local media, the power outage in Chalkida took place at noon and until late at night, the electricity had not returned.
According to evima.gr, a general damage was recorded in two underground cables due to both heatwave cables and excessively increased loads also due to heat.
The result was that areas of the center of Chalkida were left without electricity and the entire beach.
