The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated today, Sunday 26.10.2025, that Israel, as a sovereign state, will determine its security policy but also with which foreign forces it will cooperate, with the future of Gaza being a topic that has been discussed in recent days.
A few weeks have passed since the truce agreement between Israel and Hamas was reached and the future of Gaza is up for debate, with Benjamin Netanyahu stating that Israel is not seeking anyone’s approval to act, among other things.
“We control our security and we have made it clear to international powers that Israel will decide which forces are acceptable to us and that is the way we act and will continue to act,” Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of a cabinet meeting.
“This, of course, is acceptable to the United States, as expressed by its most senior representatives in recent days,” he added.
As the Israeli prime minister said, among other things, he was accused of influencing the US and then that Israel is a mouthpiece of the US, with him saying that neither is true.
“I want to make something clear – our security policy is in our own hands,” Netanyahu continues. “We will not tolerate attacks against us; we respond with our own decision, as we did in Lebanon and more recently in Gaza. We dropped 150 tons of ammunition on Hamas and terrorist elements after the attack on our two soldiers. And of course, we neutralize threats before they happen, as we did yesterday in Gaza.”
Netanyahu adds that Israel “does not ask for anyone’s approval to act. We control our security and we have made it clear that for the international forces Israel will decide which are acceptable and which are not – this is how we act and this is how we will continue to act.”
“This, of course, is acceptable to the US, as its most senior representatives have stated in recent days,” Netanyahu concluded, adding that “we will continue to control our destiny.”
