Meteorite crossed Victoria’s sky in Australiaon Sunday (11/08/2025), with testimonies of residents reporting that “houses were shaken” by the deafening sound.
Social media were flooded with reports of Meteorite’s “flight” from east Victoria up to MelbourneBalarat and Bendigo, at 7:30 on Sunday night.
Many residents also heard an explosion, described by some as an “earthquake”, with a resident of Benigo, in the Strathfieldsaye district, to call her neighbor believing that their homes had exploded. Others reported that they felt and heard something like an earthquake.
Experts say the burning body was a meteor and not space rubbish and fragments may have fallen into the ground between the bentigo and the ballet.
THE astronomer David Finley estimates that the meteor entered her atmosphere Land Between the two cities and were large enough to “survive” his fragments.
According to Finley, fragments may have fallen into areas of Victoria and look like black stone material, similar to charcoal.

The scientists They argue that such actions are rare, with only one or two similar phenomena each year in Australia. Successful finding small meteorites can prove to be significant, with the most famous example of 1969 Murchison Meteorite, which contained organic life ingredients.
Researchers from Monash University and Desert Fireball Network work feverishly to record and find Meteorite parts, while the scientific community is eagerly monitored by the continuation of the phenomenon.
