Since the commencement of concession until today, accidents have been reduced by 91%. That is why for every European citizen, the word highway is intertwined with security.
Employment

Economic growth
In accordance with Western Greece and Peloponnese Observatory (POADEP)During the operation of the project, the increase in the GDP produced by the Prefectures of Achaia and Ilia-which will come from the increase in tourism and agricultural activities and the management and maintenance of the project-is estimated at 2-3% per year, with the Prefecture of Ilias being able to achieve even greater growth, reaching 5%.
Connection with Ancient Olympia
Completion of the Patras-Pyrgos Department will also help improve the connection of Athens, the largest gateway to the country, with Ancient Olympiaa global destination for historical significance. Despite the international reputation of the region, access to it remains problematic, making the implementation of the project necessary for the development of cultural tourism and facilitating visitors.
Connection with Ionian Islands and Tourist Development
The area of the Prefecture of Ilia is a gateway to the Ionian Islands, such as Zakynthos and Kefalonia, which in recent years have experienced great tourism development.
