Falling trends recorded shares today (29.8.2025) in the last meeting of the week of the Athens Stock Exchange, with the market Moving on a downward trajectory for the fourth consecutive session, at the expense of liquidity in bank stocks.
During the last four meetings (26-29.8.2025) the basic stock market index is losses of 4.46%, while total market capitalization decreased by € 5.6 billion. The General Index closed at 2,021.69 points, down 1.06%. Intra-conference recorded lower price at 2,020.88 points (-1.10%) and higher at 2,045.94 points (+0.13%).
On a weekly basis, the basic stock market declined 3.91%, while Augustus closed 1.36%, with the market completing the 10th consecutive month of profit, achieving the longest -running upward series in its history. The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 200,772 million, with 39,646,353 shares.
The high capitalization index declined 1.17%, while the mid -capitalization index rose 0.13%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of Lamda Development (+3.79%), Metlen (+1.48%) and Aktor (+0.78%) were the highest. On the contrary, Eurobank (-2.79%), Ethniki (-2.71%), Piraeus (-2.48%) and Motor Oil (-1.79%) declined the biggest decline.
The largest volume of trading was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank with 9,683,726 and 7,597,097 shares, respectively. Alpha Bank with 32.97 million euros and Piraeus with EUR 32.56 million.
43 shares were up, 67 and 15 remained stable. The shares rose the most: Intralot (+5.63%) and Doppler (+5.19%). The biggest decline was recorded by the shares: Lanakam (K) (-5.84%) and Biocarpet (-5.45%).
